I'm not sure if you're already aware of this, but both simulated bullets and melee attacks hit the player's bounding box, not their hitboxes (as hitscan bullets do).

With ent_bbox and developer mode on:

An attack anywhere within the orange outline hits and inflicts damage.

The HL2 crossbow and melee weapons have this problem as well, so it's not entirely unexpected, but certainly needs fixing for games requiring a little more precision than HL2DM.

I've been working on some code to fix the projectile problem in my own mod and will post it in the code contributions forum if needed.

Ah, yes. These are remnants from my old attempts at making melee work with lag. It gives the player more chances to hit, but it is probably a bit silly. I'm testing with it removed atm.
