This goes in the materials/nature/ folder BTW. So this was the issue I was having. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59584068...C1EBBEB66AE513/ Looks like shit, right? It's because all the HL2 rocks (except riverrocks) share the same VMT as the cliff-face models. The texture's ssbump looks fine when it's on an vertical surface but horizontal surfaces produce all sorts of self-shadow artifacts. So using Valves ssbump texture I converted it to a normal map with CrazyBump and then in PS set the contrast at 75 and brightness to 16. This is a simple method of faking ssbump maps. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59584068...2DC72B0576DF3B/ The result. It doesn't show well on this model but the smaller ones look great. Far less shadow "artifacts" and increased illusion of depth on horizontal surfaces. Try it out add some feedback. -------------------- |

Or you could ask your friendly neighborhood modeler for rocks, takes me about 5 minutes and I actually have about half a dozen on hand. Nice work though, this mod certainly does have ugly rocks.

Deal.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ULZbsOnzKzE/S64o...00/IMG_7510.JPG I'm looking for rock clusters for a coastline and I could use something like this. Probably something with two skins, dry and dirty. I doubt they'll be in an area where people can walk so they can have simple (or no) collision models. I was on Holiday and have only just returned. I'll PM you some of the rocks I have already finished for other projects and you can look over some of those.
